WebJul 2, 2024 · Fast Dynamic MVT generation. I am trying to migrate from serving static MVT to generated on the backend by PostGIS with ST_AsMVT (). Or find a way of minimizing the time of building MVT from the database. I have a dataset of political, historical maps, and I am serving them as prerendered Mapbox Vector Tiles. Dataset itself is not massive. WebBecause it uses a raster-dem source to calculate the slope and shadow pixel-by-pixel on the user’s computer, the resulting hillshading is much more detailed than the shading that’s possible with a vector-terrain tileset. It’s the difference between styling individual pixels vs. broader, less detailed polygons.
